MEET ANDREA

The Mom Behind the Mess

Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, I grew up with a strong appreciation for Elvis, BBQ, and the Civil Rights Movement. Though I don’t have much of a twang when I talk, I have strong Southern tendencies like waving to neighbors from the car, saying yes ma’am, and talking to strangers in the check out line.

My Family

I married my seminary sweetheart, and we planted roots in San Jose, California where my hubby teaches math at a local private school. He is logic, I am emotion, but we are both stubborn. We have two kids (ages 11 and 9) who teach about the love of Jesus and the need for Jesus every day.

My Day to Day

Most days I’m carpooling kids around town and avoiding the dishes in the sink. Some days, I’m photographing local families and business owners. Other days, I write and speak to women and students who love Jesus but struggle with anxiety, depression, and self-sabotage.

My happy place is a local bookstore, coffee shop, or boutique downtown shop. I love anything unique and artsy, and I crave the symphony only a redwood forest can play.

Fun Fact #1

My sister and I are extras in the major motion picture Walk the Line. If you tune in at 1 hour 13 minutes, you’ll spot me in the crowd clapping away during the outdoor concert scene.

Pictured is the screenshot my husband shares with his students at the beginning of the year 😉

Fun Fact #2

As a little girl, I desperately wanted to be on Star Search and become the next diva to top the charts! Singing was my first love and continues to be a source of joy as I serve on the worship team at my church. I am featured on the worship album, In All of My Living, with Bay Marin Community Church.

Fun Fact #3

I’m an Ambivert. Have you heard of this? It’s a combination of Introvert and Extrovert. I’ve found the best way to describe is that I love to be with people, but I need a nap afterwards!
